[opensuse-factory] GNOME 3.12.0 for TW
Hi all, and especially Greg, As you are surely aware, GNOME 3.12 has been released and all the work to include it in Factory has been prepared; we also released (so far without announcement.. ) a GNOME:STABLE:3.12 repository for openSUSE 13.1, so users can update (not advised for multi DE setups, as we have to replace upower). It would be nice if TW could as well start preparing for the inclusion of GNOME 3.12, in order to also have its users benefit from the work done. I suggest to use the packages maintained in GNOME:STABLE:3.12 for now (note: wayland is disabled there; we don't even have the right stack in Factory until a couple days ago..) How do you suggest non-GNOME or multi-DE users deal with the upower replacement you mentioned? This issue should have vanished on Tumbleweed, just as it vanished in Factory as well (where we have upower 0.99 for a while already). That warning is / was solely for G:S:3.12 users.. where there is no solution and won't be any... short of updating to TW. You might want to check that assumption: zypper> se -s upower Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... S | Name | Version | Arch | Repository --+-----------------+--------------+--------+------------------------------ i | libupower-glib1 | 0.9.23-2.4.1 | i586 | openSUSE-current-Update-OSS v | libupower-glib1 | 0.9.21-2.1.3 | i586 | openSUSE-current OSS i | upower | 0.9.23-2.4.1 | i586 | openSUSE-current-Update-OSS v | upower | 0.9.21-2.1.3 | i586 | openSUSE-current OSS i | upower-lang | 0.9.23-2.4.1 | noarch | openSUSE-current-Update-OSS v | upower-lang | 0.9.21-2.1.3 | noarch | openSUSE-current OSS (I've cut the devel and debuginfo packages from the output.) How do you suggest non-GNOME or multi-DE users deal with the upower replacement you mentioned? Hi Achim, at least KDE's PowerDevil and Solid from standard update repo can happily use upower 0.99, can't say about other DE's though.
Cheers, Hrvoje

Thanks for letting me know. I'll go stage it in openSUSE:Tumbleweed:GNOME, and then ask for testers after it looks good from my end, before moving it to openSUSE:Tumbleweed. If I have any problems, I'll be sure to let you know :) thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
