When you reply to report some issues, make sure to change the subject. It is not helpful to keep the release announcement subject in a thread while discussing a specific problem.
Packages changed: ffmpeg (3.3.1 -> 3.3.2) gstreamer (1.10.4 -> 1.12.0)
would be nice that you would follow the instructions above included in your reply. and that you would trim all but what is essential to convey your message
openSUSE Board Member openSUSE Forums Team would definitely try to set a better examnple.

Hi I got this message installing gstreamer with this snapshot - is it an issue? I'm not sure if this issue was caused by this (20170618) or the previous snapshot, but after tomorrow upgrade (I previously upgraded at Friday), I have problem with external monitor. I have VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 520 (rev 07) and fully upgraded TW with KDE. If I plug external monitor (HDMI if it matters), the Plasma freezes. Restart of the Plasma doesn't help. It is not possible to click on anything, nothing. Interestingly, unplugging the monitor defreezes everything and the desktop is fully usable again. As a workaround, the monitor must be plugged before turning on of the computer. Then everything works as usually. Anyone else experiencing this? -- Vojtěch Zeisek https://trapa.cz/

I'm experimenting exactly the inverse. If I start my computer with external screen (DisplayPort on docking) everything freeze when sddm start. The new update, make it freeze also now on shutdown ;-) So undocking before start, and before shutdown. I use nvidia 375.66. If I don't use the docking, then everything works as expected. So I suspect more an hardware shit somewhere. -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch Bareos Partner, openSUSE Member, fsfe fellowship GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I'm using second monitor almost daily and until tomorrow it had been working well, i.e. I turn on the notebook, I plug in the monitor and it works. ;-) -- Vojtěch Zeisek https://trapa.cz/

I'm using the second monitor daily too. When I get at work I plug my laptop in the docking station and then I power it up. No problems at all till today. Hope it won't break tomorrow :-D The difference is that my GPU is an Intel. Cris

Don't worry too much, I've the freeze also with the intel (optimus if activated) too ... When I use external monitor witout the docking station everything work as expected. Hi, It looks I'm experiencing this problem too. Usually I'm starting and working without external monitor (at home) or with already plugged external monitor (at work). But today I've unplugged external monitor when electricity went down and replugged it back after a while and primary laptop display was frozen (though mouse cursor moved fine). It become all right again after switch to tty1 (Ctrl+Alt+F1) and back (Ctrl+Alt+F7). openSUSE Tumbleweed x86_64 20170701, Intel GPU HD Graphics 530 (NVidia is present, but isn't used, blob: 381.22), SDDM, KDE Plasma 5. External monitor plugged via HDMI cable. -- Kind regards, Mykola Krachkovsky -- Найкращі побажання, Микола Крачковський

Hi, think I have the same issue. First I thought it was related to screen rotation but it turns out that is only partially true: When I connect my screens without kde/plasma in the sddm loginmanager the screens come to live in mirrored mode. This work every time. The screens being connected at boot or not. When I then use xrandr to configure my rotated desktop setup the freeze happens. Well not really a freeze it seems the graphics card simply does not update the screen. Everything still works. The cursor too. I think this is because its a hardware rendered cursor. The only relevant message i could extract from journal/X.org.log etc is this: [drm] Reducing the compressed framebuffer size. This may lead to less power savings than a non-reduced-size. Try to increase stolen memory size if available in BIOS. After seeing this i tried turning off compressed framebuffer by adding i915.enable_fbc=0 to the kernel command line. Now I can attach/detach screens without problems. But the Graphics are very slow. Any Ideas? cheers Wonko On Tuesday, 20 June 2017 10:11:20 CEST Vojtěch Zeisek wrote:

Fix for that is underway and should be part of snapshot 0620. for the time being, I suggest option 2, which will cause the least problem. Cheers, Dominique
