[opensuse-factory] [opensuse-kde] openSUSE 10.2 EOL -> no more virtual desktops in supported openSUSE?

the lifetime of openSUSE 10.2 ends today which means that we will remove also openSUSE 10.2 repositories from KDE:* openSUSE Build Service very soon.
The date http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11418 was filed suggests that 10.2 is the last openSUSE version that supports virtual desktops. If this is true, I cannot upgrade. Virtual desktop is an upgrade blocker for me. Anyone else? What can we do? I can't fix 11418. :-( -- "Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain." Psalm 127:1 NIV Team OS/2 ** Reg. Anybody followed his bug reference to freedesktop.org? Isn't that what mhopf blogged about recently: http://emmes.livejournal.com/2700.html Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Maybe he refers to the panning feature, which has gone with xrandr 1.2. Look at: http://emmes.livejournal.com/2700.html Herbert -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

This is portion of xorg.conf from 10.2: Section "Screen" DefaultDepth 24 SubSection "Display" Depth 24 Modes "1024x768" "800x600 # virtual 1280 720 # virtual 1280 800 # virtual 1366 768 # virtual 1440 900 # virtual 1680 1050 virtual 1680 1200 # virtual 1920 1080 # virtual 1920 1200 # virtual 1920 1440 # virtual 1400 2048 # virtual 2048 2048 EndSubSection Can you guess why I need them?

That's it exactly. I have a new box built to replace the one now running 10.2. Desktop "panning" is crucial, so I have to pick an OS to install that has it. What is the newest openSUSE that does, 10.2? -- "Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain." Psalm 127:1 NIV Team OS/2 ** Reg.
