Everybody can use http:/ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/11.2-Milestone3/iso/ directly - all ISOs are there, but almost no traffic (just a total of 30 out of 120 MB/sec). Will, zypper up, or, zypper dup, take me to "Milestone3" or is a reinstall necessary? -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Not having much success. I downloaded the i586 DVD first. K3b says it's not an iso image, the md5 sum matches though. So I haven't burnt it yest. Then I tried to mount it (I usually do this, mount -o loop) to a directory for network installation. No go: mount: you must specify the filesystem type Then I tried to mount via Konqueror: No go. Then Konqueror ISO View: Nothing there, empty. Then I downloaded the net.iso. Nothing you can do there either. Automatic setup stops and goes to manual. That also stops, after configuring the repo. After a really long time it comes back to square one of configuring network. When everything is done, after a really long time again: No repository found. Should I burn the DVD (not iso)image and try that? I downloaded and burned this one again. Now the installation is running. The next thing is to do the DVD again I guess. Vahis -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

K3b seems to have problems lately.... mediacheck: openSUSE (/Desktop/openSUSE-DVD-Build0146-i586.iso) Medium: CD1 Size: 4447896 kB Result: OK -- The medium has been successfully verified. My suggestion is to use another cd write utility like cdwrite or some such. In any event, burn it as an ISO image, not as a file. I should think so as that's the way business is usually done. 11.0 --> and on up to 11.2 Milestone2 ---> Milestone3 ---> all the way to 11.2 Final and beyond. A much easier and seamless task these days compared to the change from a.out to elf or glibc1 to glibc2. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ...
