I wanted to clear up some confusion around the Backports project on OBS. As you know Backports (also know as PackageHub by its consumer name, https://packagehub.suse.com/) provides packages for Enterprise users that does not exist on on the SUSE Linux Enterprise releases.

First of all, thank you for submitting to Backports, we appreciate it! But please consider two things:

1. Please submit to the lowest compatible release. If your software builds/runs perfectly on SLE12 please submit to openSUSE:Backports:SLE-12 . If you need features from SP2 it's perfectly fine to submit to openSUSE:Backports:SLE-12-SP2, but unless you need updated libs etc. try to target the minimum release.

2. Please never submit to :Update project as these only exist for internal purposes and not published.
