It would be nice if there was a "Just for get about it" option or a "Keep it anyway?". Because some times Yast request removing something you need for the lack of something you don't need. Say like a language related missing rpm. Besides if I say "( ) Ignore this requirement generally" then chose something else Yast2 finds it again and again. Another problem is if package A needs B and B is not found Yast 2 will ask to remove A then C and D are asked to be removed because they need A which is removed.
This update, i told Yast to ignore for the moment, and it did. I would certainly like, that it would look for the missing pkgs everytime, using suseupdater fi, to fullfill the deps, instead of complaining.
Now it seems i am not able to print, but i did not try yet... Have to find out what is the problem, what does not function exactly... Kernel install, no trouble at all, entrances in Grub: Perfect! Have a nice day, It would be if I find a new job in Linux and out of electronics.
Good Luck!

"Checking" is available by checking the check box near the middle of the bottom area.
I did not know that..;-) I do agree but I wish it would only check the one file and
not the complete list every time. I do install upgrades from source and would like Yast2 Updater to allow me to choose. A good example is xine=lib, kmymoney, kbanking, gwenifer, and aqbanking. Suse breaks xine-lib and amarok and I believe gstreamer which cause totem to fail.
SuSE is also missing things by design thing like libdvdcss.
Absolutely! (but it does compile beautifull, on every edition, without a faillure.. ;-) (libdvdcss-tarball) The Multimedia-pattern should be implemented in 10.3! (I am very serious about that..!)

Why compile? Because we've always done so and it's no trouble. Things like libdvdcss, libmad, faac, faad, mpeg2dec, ffmpeg and friends, FlightGear, svxlink, mpeg4ip, mplayer, vlc, mencoder, mythtv and may be some others that are not part of the distro or not as we would like them to be. The list is not as long as it used to be, factory does a pretty good job of getting the latest stuff up. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ...
