[opensuse-factory] M8 and M7 Keyboard and Mouse Lockout
Hello, Once I updated to m7 (i burned a dvd iso) GDM locked out my keyboard and mouse which won't let me login. I know that my keyboard is recognized in the bios and grub, but once I get to the GDM login screen the keyboard and mouse are disabled, to the point that even hitting caps lock, or num lock won't light up their respective notification lights. I have tried booting in failsafe and then i updated to m8, again burning an iso because I was unable to "zypper update" and m condition has not changed. Here is to hoping that someone out there knows what is going wrong *crosses fingers* Many thanks in advance, ~ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

There was a hal issue that made the keyboard and mouse unavailable in X. That could be it. Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
Can you tell me what I should do to go about remedying it? like a way to patch hal from the dvd? On Mon, Oct 5, 2009 at 4:05 PM, Vincent Untz <vuntz@opensuse.org> wrote:

Well, the solution that I used was to upgrade hal to the one from Factory... So boot in single user mode (type 3 in grub, then enter), log in, configure the network if needed, and upgrade the hal package.
