[opensuse-factory] Classifying a bug under installation or kernel in Bugzilla
Hello all, I have been having a problem in which the installer with default kernel freezes when "Searching for Linux Partitions" during the probing. This has been happening since 12.2 M1 - M3. To resolve this I add "acpi=off" to the boot options. This should not happen with the default kernel. Should I add this as a bug under "Installation" or "Kernel" in Bugzilla? -- Cheers! If you tested other kernel and that doesn't happen, then bug is in -default, so file with "kernel", otherwise, if not sure as you used only -default for installation, use "installation". Guys will figure out once they see the bug, provided that you mentioned machine (hardware) and installation medium. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

It's definitely the kernel. When I select "NO ACPI" or "Safe Mode" it no longer freezes. I have never had problems with 11.4 and 12.1 milestones. Disabling 1.44 FDD in BIOS fixed this problem for me. I do not have a FDD in my PC... Michael -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
