Is there any malfunction to be expected in opensuse for the X201, or do I have to file a bug report in order to avoid problems? I think this is due to the deprecation of legacy IDE driver in 5.1. Is there any malfunction to be expected in opensuse for the X201, or do I have to file a bug report in order to avoid problems?
It's not about the IDE stuff but a known but harmless issue with thinkpad_acpi driver. The hwmon core tries to give pressure to developers who still didn't convert to the new API, but actually nothing is broken. The API change in thinkpad_acpi was already done in the upstream 4.14 kernel, and we may backport it to Leap 15.1 kernel, too. OTOH, this would bring a slight incompatibility in the sysfs format (although lm_snsors should work as-is), so I wouldn't do it unless the issue really matters seriously.
