Update to new upstream release 1.11.0 * Automatic parsing of the trackpoint sensitivity sysfs file was reverted, since this caused the trackpoint to send NaN deltas on some devices, notiably the Lenovo CompactKeyboard with Trackpoint. * A new tool pair is available now: libinput record and libinput replay. These tools supersede the evemu-record/evemu-play tools currently used to debug events. * The touchpad jitter detection code has been improved to reduce the number of false positives. Some touchpads require the kernel fuzz setting to be set to avoid pointer jitter though, please see this page for details: https://wayland.freedesktop.org/libinput/doc/latest/touchpad_jitter.html * A new touchpad acceleration code has been merged, the behavior now resembles the pointer acceleration of macOS. You will notice that your touchpad is slower at slow speeds and accelerates sooner. At the same time, the speed range available has been greatly extended, so the slowest speed and highest speed are quite significantly apart now. This should, hopefully, allow all users to select a speed to match their preferences. * The maximum delta for trackpoints has been increased, reducing the amount of pressure required to move the pointer around the screen. * A bunch of trackpoint range hwdb entries to set the expected range for some common devices were merged. The POINTINGSTICK_SENSITIVITY udev property is now ignored, instead we just read that value directly from sysfs. - Remove 0001-udev-default-to-a-trackpoint-range-of-160-for-the-ne.patch, 0002-udev-support-firmware-detection-for-pointing-sticks.patch (upstreamed) - spec file: added "udevadm hwdb --update" to %post Without this, changes to the hwdb file won't be visible - spec file: fixed build error on Leap 42.3 - Fix ALPS trackpoint speed (bsc#1013647, fdo#106323) backported from upstream 1.10.902 * added 0001-udev-default-to-a-trackpoint-range-of-160-for-the-ne.patch * added 0002-udev-support-firmware-detection-for-pointing-sticks.patch - spec file: use %license for COPYING - Update to new bugfix release 1.10.7 * The Logitech Wireless Touchpad and the MacBook Pro 5,5 had their palm thresholds added/updated. * A tapping bug caused taps to be ignored after thumb detection. ==== libkdegames ==== Version update (18.04.1 -> 18.04.2) Subpackages: kdegames-carddecks-default libkdegames-lang libkf5kdegames6 - One of these updates is slightly more impactful than the others (hint it's not keditbookmarks). I've mentioned it before, but in light of the upcoming hack week, I figured it warrants a second mention: we really need a way to break this list up a bit, maybe by staging set or something, so that kernel updates don't get 'masked' by KDE updates. - -- James Mason <jmason@suse.com> SUSE -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQEzBAEBCAAdFiEEg/RjZ+RraZBnLRN4GzlRiGxEkCMFAlsnzv0ACgkQGzlRiGxE kCPYAAf9HekX8NoT/pvK7NkvWG5qOpFDZxSeyHz+sJRUk90qW0ArMElIuN+G86gc LwOX4vzjw7dpGMtuWWdgTZ/Dho+5erjktrwpsWkl7nSgSUPWx6FIuNqzj8Lm5x2H eiC1umyivSnECROV21l8DJOoZhCf2ZC2oL2Lgl00SplhJZ7oIWLenW3JoRJ45qE4 bTW4XZbmmYbGKNmFexPiPfpkBHFqGI8in2IL4vGSGsyAnr5rdz9Ih92cTCEkdfix DaV106Zit3pk5MdDusH+cvRw2g/FH1GD3vcAF8l0PGuQLNzYnYDPTA1qNZgkZGSf joa1RF0UruLp7tm4WhhIJnvWFSx0dA== =TxnQ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

We have https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/1092871 already. The issue is back with this change. That bug is for Leap15 which is not be affected by this. So either create new one or please wait for already present SR https://build.opensuse.org/request/ show/614246 which is unfortunately stuck in legal queue. They should have been released in one snapshot, my mistake for not ensuring that.
Can you try installing paprefs from https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/ GNOME:Apps/paprefs ? I don't know about plasma-pa. Do you have a reproducing steps? Thanks, Ondrej

OK, let's track the plasma problem there. thanks, Takashi -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
I've run into a quite unexpected problem with this snapshot: my mouse stopped working in an almost hilarious way: I can still move the pointer and things like the screen saver register clicks and scroll events apparently (or just the activity really), but everywhere else I can't click or scroll, not even on the login screen. It doesn't matter if I'm trying that later in my usual Plasma/X11 or in Wayland session. Upon attaching a new mouse (either via USB or PS/2), the first few seconds it might work and then it goes again. All my usual mice register as some sort of Logitech device (some of them are genuine Logitech, the others are various OEM based on Logitech models). I've finally found an old USB wireless mouse stick from a long decommisioned notebook that seems to work and keeps working, but only as long as I don't connect any of the Logitech mice. Anybody have an idea what's up with that? I've booted into the previous kernel (4.16.12-3) and the problem is gone, so something's fishy (probably) with how the 4.17.1 kernel treats Logitech mice. I don't mean to sound condescending, but have you checked the batteries? My Logitech wireless mice & keyboards have done really whacky and inconsistent things over the years when the batteries have got low/old - including working "normally" for a couple of hours after rebooting a machine that had been up for 80+ days. I've hypothesised that a 10 minute break for a reboot is enough time for the chemical reaction to release a tiny bit more charge to let the device stagger on for another few hours. So if you've left the mouse alone long enough for the screensaver to kick-in... With 12-15 month battery life expectancy, I often can't remember the last time I had the AA's out/swapped to re-charge. I see the same behavior with my installation in a VirtualBox machine. Didn't tried to boot the old kernel yet, but it is exactly as you describe.

My mouse is connected through USB and it works on the host system itself, but not within the virtual system. So I doubt that it would be the batteries or connection. Also the mouse works for the first couple of seconds when I am in a KDE session. I am using Xorg, so I believe we can rule out the Display server (Wayland and Xorg both shows the same behavior). I thought that it was something with the VirtualBox installation, but am happy to see that this is a more general issue. I updated to the 4.17.2 kernel from Kernel:Stable, but this does not solve the problem. I check if I could reproduce the issue with my Archlinux installation on a physical box, connected through Teamviewer. That system runs 4.17.2 and I do not see the issue there. However I am not sure how comparable both scenarios actually are. If they are, then it seems that a patch/setting was introduced with kernel 4.17.1 that causes this problem (I doubt that it has anything to do with the switch to GCC8) Raymond On Tue, Jun 19, 2018 at 4:37 PM Raymond Wooninck <tittiatcoke@gmail.com> wrote:

So you also see that you can scoll or click for a couple of seconds, that's interesting. It's almost as if something grabs some mouse events and then just throws them away. I have no such problem, just random guess, isn't that some gesture related bug? Maybe something trying to detect gesture and grabbing the mouse? Touch screen settings? kcmshell5 kwintouchscreen -- Kind regards, Mykola Krachkovsky -- Найкращі побажання, Микола Крачковський

Yes, and I even resetted the transceiver and re-trained both the keyboard and mouse to it. But more to the point, I then tried cable-based mice and they do the same thing.
