[opensuse-factory] mkinitrd / boot failure
Hi all, I just found out that after updating Factory packages yesterday, my system wouldn't boot. Thankfully I have a copy of the system on my second harddisk and by rewriting the "root" line in GRUB I could boot with the initrd from a day before. The error seems to be in /lib/mkinitrd/scripts/setup-prepare.sh and the thread in http://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php?p=2442622 tells the details. We should care that a bug is filed and a fix submitted, or a lot of Factory installations will become unusable. I got bit, also, but booting from a live-cd and chrooting into 12.2m1 and following instructions to add paths got me back. tks, -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
