[opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed / NetworkManager
Distribution update from Tumbleweed installs 0.9.0.2-4.2, which is then immediately replaced with 0.9.1+0.9.0-1.6.1 from openSUSE-current Updates via a security patch openSUSE-2012-233. I seem to remember that there was some versioning confusion and 0.9.1 doesn't really exist and the package in Tumbleweed might actually be the current one — in which case I'd need to lock the patch, just like openSUSE-2011-25-1, openSUSE-2011-80-1 and openSUSE-2012-15-1, which would try to downgrade packages that have been updated in Tumbleweed. Tumbleweed does not have NetworkManager (well, it attempts to have the NetworkManager-kde package, but that's failing to build at the moment), so I don't understand what the problem is here. confused, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

NetworkManager-kde now depends on latest openconnect package from the network project. Which is why it is failing, I understand that problem. I don't understand Achim's original question as Tumbleweed shouldn't be the issue here. greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

This is what zypper se -e NetworkManager tells me (slightly edited for brevity): i | NetworkManager | 0.9.1.90-4.8.1 | openSUSE-current Updates v | NetworkManager | 0.9.1.90-4.6.1 | openSUSE-current Updates v | NetworkManager | 0.9.1.90-4.3.1 | openSUSE-current Updates v | NetworkManager | 0.9.1.90-4.1.3 | openSUSE-current OSS v | NetworkManager-kde4-libs | 0.9.0.2-4.2 | Tumbleweed i | NetworkManager-kde4-libs | 0.9.1+0.9.0-1.6.1 | openSUSE-current Updates v | NetworkManager-kde4-libs | 0.9.1git20111027-1.3.1 | openSUSE-current Updates v | NetworkManager-kde4-libs | 0.9.1git20111027-1.1.2 | openSUSE-current OSS v | NetworkManager-kde4-libs-lang | 0.9.0.2-4.2 | Tumbleweed i | NetworkManager-kde4-libs-lang | 0.9.1+0.9.0-1.6.1 | openSUSE-current Updates v | NetworkManager-kde4-libs-lang | 0.9.1git20111027-1.3.1 | openSUSE-current Updates v | NetworkManager-kde4-libs-lang | 0.9.1git20111027-1.1.2 | openSUSE-current OSS So if I do a "dup --from Tumbleweed", it installs the two packages from Tumbleweed (with vendor change): The following packages are going to be downgraded: NetworkManager-kde4-libs NetworkManager-kde4-libs-lang ...which then triggers another install of patch 535 which installs the packages from the update repo again. As I said, I can lock either the packages in Tumbleweed or the patch to prevent that, but the two packages should probably not be in Tumbleweed just like the rest of NetworkManager? Tumbleweed is rebuilding right now, so this should be resolved when it can get rebuilt, which, at its current rate, should be in a few days :( I'd stay away from NetworkManager-kde4 for now, until this all gets sorted out, the KDE repos have had major churn, which has caused nothing but trouble for me in Tumbleweed, so much so, that I'm considering just dropping it for now until it settles down :( thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
