[opensuse-factory] TW snapshot 20180401 - extreme boot time - drm errors
Hi, I did an upgrade to latest TW today on a Dell D630. Booting took some 5 minutes afterwards, and some errors were issued: [drm:drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_flip_done [drm_kms_helper]] *ERROR* [CRTC:34:pipe A] flip_done timed out [drm:drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_dependencies [drm_kms_helper]] *ERROR* [CRTC:34:pipe A] flip_done timed out [drm:drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_dependencies [drm_kms_helper]] *ERROR* [PLANE:28:plane A] flip_done timed out pr 03 21:13:36 D630 kernel: [drm:drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_flip_done [drm_kms_helper]] *ERROR* [CRTC:41:pipe B] flip_done timed out Apr 03 21:13:36 D630 kernel: ------------[ cut here ]------------ Apr 03 21:13:36 D630 kernel: vblank wait timed out on crtc 1 Apr 03 21:13:36 D630 kernel: WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 254 at ../drivers/gpu/drm/drm_vblank.c:1073 drm_wait_one_vblank+0x148/0x150 [drm] Apr 03 21:13:36 D630 kernel: Modules linked in: hid_generic usbhid btrfs xor zstd_decompress sr_mod cdrom zstd_compress xxhash ata_generic pcmcia raid6_pq a Apr 03 21:13:36 D630 kernel: CPU: 0 PID: 254 Comm: plymouthd Tainted: G W 4.15.13-1-default #1 Apr 03 21:13:36 D630 kernel: Hardware name: Dell Inc. Find the correct bugzilla URL where the i915 developers hang out...

Just FYI - seems to be an older issue, duplicate of https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93782 Current workaround: Putting video=SVIDEO-1:d in the kernel boot command should fix the problem. Will try as soon as I'm back at the D630 Cheers Axel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
