Uh, the node "/dev/fb0" is owned "root:video" with "crw-rw----" as rights. So, either use setuid+setgid bit as shown by you, or add your user to the video group: sudo usermod -a -G video $USER then it should be possible to use a non-root X11 session. PS: Maybe a user created via yast should get added to the video group by default. - Yamaban.
