[opensuse-factory] 42.3: some problems found
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I noticed some issues. XFCE: The weather applet does not work. Neither in 42.2. thunar-sendto-blueman can not be installed, needs python3-notify2 Gnome: Shotwell is too old. We get version 0.22.0, while the current version is 0.26.2. General: su - fails to recognize the root password. ssh root@localhost, same problem. root login in console works fine, same password. However, I can start fine YaST from the menu, it asks and accepts the same root password. - -- Cheers Carlos E. R. The KDE weather applet is doing fine. I have not tested the XFCE applet.

"su" and "su -" are working fine here. "ssh root@localhost" is also fine, but since I am using publickey authentication, it probably doesn't test what you are asking about. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iQEcBAEBAgAGBQJZVCMnAAoJEGSXLIzRJwiFOFkIANVxkM76Da6QiVL+blZdgh8l G9C7mMDUahEFk9ipxllUcN4NYD4vaao46Q5tu2K++YWWRhw0+ck0ugF6Ji39u8HG wnh6Np26dR2i2jggb0+Ea4SN4esYURv74LlEBBlwnkffdtGB9OXAyHukO3B/rfhL l9vZjagTsy7AjN/PuH10ZBWbIYR7NXl7b8fWracBHDles3YhN4TtBFNLthPRuahN wB50i/Nb5XLeymHU0/FybfUgZ06Bpj9kiv8ZvUP4TzZXXf9CfqHIkyvgi4+UiiKz JC2XFHhAePOjeLWQuWDr9KJdYUkaEtdZcjXVVPggsV7uZwtI4uUK1dKiGB/P2FM= =ps64 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Because I need to know if others see the problem. If you need bugzillas, I'll write them. Seems to me a waste of ink. Bug 1046810 - weather applet does not get weather data Bug 1046811 - thunar-sendto-blueman can not be installed, needs python3-notify2

Well maybe try sending update or contacting maintainers of shotwell? Also if present shotwell contains bugs serious enough I could imagine update being created for this package - but this will not happen due to someone sending mails to this mailing list, rather bug needs to be reported. You could instead simply say: "Please create a bugzilla", which has happened here many times. And done. Many of us consider writing a bugzilla something serious that should not be done unless there is good cause because it causes many people to spend time on it. We consider more polite to ask here instead. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.2 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)

In order to get an update accepted in 42.3 there now has to be a valid openSUSE bug report, this is valid for 42.2 as well. Make a bug report and reference the upstream bugs. The bugs are reported in the shotwell mail list. If there is a bugzilla system upstream (I don't know about that, they didn't tell me to use it), I can not report issues on old versions, they will tell me to upgrade first. Age / version numbers are no driver for Leap! Functionality / bugs are (and shotwell is a SLE package)
Shotwell has bad bugs that I reported upstream. I need a recent version to find out if they are solved. And if they aren't, I can't provide crash tracebacks to them. Even the graphics repo carries an obsolete version. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.2 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)
