[opensuse-factory] Open-sourced: OpenCL-based multiphysics simulation software package
Dear OpenSUSE developer community, we would like to announce the recent open-source release of our GPU-enabled multiphysics software - Advanced Simulation Library. http://asl.org.il/ Here are some remarkable benchmarks: http://asl.org.il/benchmarks/multicomponent_flow/ If possible, please create a OpenSUSE package for ASL and send me an URL where we could make our contributions to the packaging efforts. Thank you, Zeev ps: Please, "like" us on Facebook, if you find ASL cool: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Avtech-Scientific/828973737156105 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Hi Zeev & Dmitry, One issue I see is the hard requirement in vtk 5.8 (pretty ancient) Otherwise we need a opencl in some offcial repo. (pocl is in somem personal repos). I am sceptical about any fast progress on this, if the vtk 5.8 requirement cannot be removed. regards, Alin Without Questions there are no Answers! ______________________________________________________________________ Dr. Alin Marin ELENA http://alin.elena.space/ ______________________________________________________________________ On 8 June 2015 at 13:45, Dmitry Roshchin <dmitry@roshchin.org> wrote:

Hello Alin, Dmitry and the OpenSuse community! we have updated all our dependencies(among them VTK to 6.1): http://asl.org.il/2015/06/09/ASL-0.1.2_released/ Now we look for volunteers to add ASL package for OpenSuse - please, send us a link, so we can follow the process and make contributions. Hi Zeev, Some quick notes, you miss so versons to your shared libs... tests seem to build only if with_matio enabled... and there is no install target for them. there is no target to build the docs... is pretty trivial to add one I still have to run any of the tests. regards, Alin Without Questions there are no Answers! ______________________________________________________________________ Dr. Alin Marin ELENA http://alin.elena.space/ ______________________________________________________________________ On 9 June 2015 at 21:59, Alin Marin Elena <alinm.elena@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Alin, thank you for moving full steam ahead! We have just switched to Cmake/git from other tools, so some things might not be that smooth yet :) We will take care of this issues. Once you run the tests - pay attention to the specs of your hardware and adjust the grid size accordingly (see our benchmarks to get the feeling) Thank you, Zeev On Tue, 2015-06-09 at 22:16 +0100, Alin Marin Elena wrote:

Hi Alin, Thank you for the patch! Please file a feature request, telling which configuration options you would like to have inside of asl.ini. https://github.com/AvtechScientific/ASL/issues Our User Guide has a bit of information about ASL's parameters manager: https://github.com/AvtechScientific/ASL/wiki/User-Guide#parameters-manager Feel free to add any new findings there (documentation is our weakest part - 1. we never get time to write docs, 2. many things are obvious for us as for insiders, thats why a fresh view from outside is very important) All the best, Zeev On Wed, 2015-06-10 at 10:05 +0100, Alin Marin Elena wrote:
