[opensuse-factory] Vivaldi users here? Strange issue
Hi list, I wonder if there's any other users of Vivaldi here? I'm having a strange issue since I rebooted after the second last update of TW (5 days ago, another reboot 2 days ago) The problem is in the tab handling of the browser: If I open a link in the background it should open an (unfocussed) tab and start loading the page. Which it did ever since I use Vivaldi. Now, if I try this, e.g., from a forum overview, either by selecting 'open in background tab' from the right-click context menu of a link, or by middle-clicking on the link, nothing happens until I do another action. Click the current (or another) tab in the tab bar, click another link on that page. *Then* the background tab opens, and only then loading of the page starts. Now you wonder: Why do I post this here, and not in a Vivaldi Forum(*)? The reason is that the last update of Vivaldi (I run the Snapshot version, 1.16.1259.3) had been on August 3, and I am 100% sure that I had rebooted several times inbetween, and the feature had worked as intended. Vivaldi is based on Chromium, and uses (amongst others) gtk3. I wonder if it can be related to that? But on first hand I'd like to know if someone here is using it and can confirm (or not...) this weird behavior, or has other ideas what might have caused this. (*) I have also a thread running in a Vivaldi Forum, but so far noone else has seen it. So it might be TW-specific because of the new libraries.... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
Hello. Not reproducible at 13.2. Unfortunately I don't have TW to check with it. Thu, 23 Aug 2018 15:28:01 +0300 Peter Suetterlin <pit@astro.su.se> напісаў(ла):

Thanks! Guess I'll try to install stable and see if that also has it. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
I'm not using the snapshot version of Vivaldi so I wouldn't be able to reproduce your issue, but on a slightly related note, I've found that Vivaldi doesn't handle mouse clicks well. If I want to, for example, right-click a tab to pin it or close it or whatever, I *always* have to click twice to open the menu. It never works on one click. Same thing in the address bar too. Kind regards, Huw

Hm, I cannot reproduce this, right-click works for me in any context. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Of course! Unfortunately, in a realm where we are not able to hear it :o ;^> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Using 1.16.1259.3 (Official Build) snapshot (64-bit) - not a problem for me using either right-click or middle-click. Although i do seem to remember that a while back if i opened a tab, it wouldn't load the page until i opened the tab.

OK, so maybe it's only my setup? What DE and graphics hardware are you on? Ah sorry - just saw it in the signature. I'm on intel (HD530). I'll try running it on the nvidia secondary (optimus), see if that works (better/at all).

Cannot remember having seen that behavior before. Weird thing is the problem seems to come and go, and so far I have not found a pattern behind it. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Yep, tell me about it. I've had to apply kmail settings and save them numerous times to "get them to stick or work" - a little issue of setting a folder to show HTML emails - its all ok now. I've now got an issue where i occasionally have to reset my resolution to get a desktop that fits my screen, its strange how something works for a while and then goes back to being an issue. But I guess thats the problem with using a moving object like tumbleweed. -- opensuse:tumbleweed:20180820 Qt: 5.11.1 KDE Frameworks: 5.48.0 - KDE Plasma: 5.13.4 - kwin 5.13.4 kmail2 5.8.3 - akonadiserver 5.8.3 - Kernel: 4.18.0-1-default - xf86-video-nouveau: 1.0.15 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
