[opensuse-factory] Installing OSS 10.3 alpha 5 on Acer TM 661

Hallo, The guys at bugzilla who care and control the bug #230668 (Suspend to disk only works once if ehci_hcd is loaded) asked me to try the s2disk on OSS 10.3 Alpha in order to find out if s2disk with the now kernel works correctly - it does, but I stumbled over some other things, which seem to work not that correct. As I am a user with very little programming experience I don't know which of this things are worth to be reported to bugzilla. Therefore I would like to comment them here: 1. As I didn't want to corrupt my working installation I thought it would be a good idea to install grub on an USB-stick. The setup told the it was unable to install grub on the stick, nevertheless later I found all the files which normally will be copied to /boot on the stick. 2. In the fstab the mountpoint for the root-directory and the swap-directory are created as /dev/by-id/scsi-SATA_FUJITSU_MHVxxxx-partX / /dev/by-id/scsi-SATA_FUJITSU_MHVxxxx-partY swap on the other side one has to use /dev/sdaX in order to tell the system which partition it has to use for s2disk. I suppose if the complete installation runs correctly, this is written correctly in the menu.lst. But as I had to do it manually it was a little bit confusing that the system doesn't use anymore the hdxY-notation and to find the difference between fstab and menu.lst. 3. On OSS 10.0 the installation-routine recognized the fact that the (video)BIOS of the Acer TM 661 is defective and lacking the correct resolution information. It automatically installed 855resolution from Alain Poirier. OSS 10.2 didn't do that nor does it 10.3. 4. The setup for the x-server writes an xorg.conf-file with the driver 'intel'. This driver doesn't work with the Acer Travelmate 661. I had to change the driver to i810. This is a little bit annoying - for a newbie it will be desastrous. By the way: s2ram still doesn't work correctly (see bugzilla #230123). Thanks for testing!
Strange - could you give some more details and report a bug?
That should work. Read my announcements about the Alphas, we indeed switched to /dev/sda with the new libata drivers.
Please file a bugreport.
Please file a bugreport as well.
