Re: [opensuse-factory] Package Manager Update 3: Call for Testing
hi, all. I've been testing the 4th Sep packages and some old issues are still bothering me. I don't know if these are x64_64 SUSE 10.1 specific or not: 1. When it comes to identify a source format, Yast prefers YUM to YAST. So almost all the inst sources in my list are in YUM format. Would a feature that gives people a chance to choose be better? Or it was designed to act in this way? 2. Guru source cannot be refreshed. It automatically turns off the refresh option in Yast. With manually refresh it reports a warning saying "does not contain desired media." 3. Cannot add source Gnome supplementary on ftp.suse.com. I can guarantee the accuracy of the adrress. The erorr says something like "Not a valid source" 4. Speed... Guess I can live with that in 10.1 So........Which of these should I file as bugs? File an enhancement request
2. Guru source cannot be refreshed. It automatically turns off the refresh option in Yast. With manually refresh it reports a warning saying "does not contain desired media."
File a bug and attach the y2logs.
3. Cannot add source Gnome supplementary on ftp.suse.com. I can guarantee the accuracy of the adrress. The erorr says something like "Not a valid source"
File a bug and attach the y2logs.

It has been said that Narayans KDE updater applet requires 10.2 factory zmd. Can anyone tell me if the KDE updater applet should work with AJs PM update 3 packages? I installed the update 3 packages on my 900 mhz laptop and added inst-source. Parse-metadata is a lot less "evil" than it was at 10.1 release-time. Zen-installer froze on me once. Not sure what happened there and if it's reproducible.
