[opensuse-factory] Beta2 availability?

Hi, For me, only the delta isos are available from http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.1-Beta2/ The iso dir is empty. When trying to download the torrents (tried i386 and x86_64) it complains about "unregistered torrent". The dvd isos I have only found on .gwdg.de ? /Per -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

use delta or the torrents. the main site only offeres the smaller bits and p2p link stuff to save bandwidth and to avoid ddosing. its been like this for many releases now. search the archives and announcements. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

He said he tried the torrents. So did I and also got the non registered torrent error
Same here, and the Beta1_Beta2-DVD-i386.delta.iso seems to be broken. I checked the DVD image and the delta, both have correct checksums, but the delta still will not apply ("payload uncompress error"). Am I doing something wrong (nobody else seems to have that problem...) or is it really broken? Anyway, just 6 more hours to go from gwdg.de ;-) Regards nordi -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I tried yesterday dvd beta 2 for x86 in VMware and not even saw the boot menu, Is the bug *Bug 431491 - openSUSE 11.1 Beta2 doesn’t boot in a VirtualBox* on its way to be solved ? Thanks ;=) Fabrice Hans Witvliet a écrit :

Workaround for VirtualBox installations, if you have Beta1: Put http://download.opensuse.org/factory/repo/oss as you primary source, and run zypper dup The update worked fine, and the system is now considered 11.1 Beta2. I'm not sure is it possible to go from openSUSE 11.0 to 11.1 Beta2 with the same method and how long it will be possible to do that as Factory can't be kept frozen for very long. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

You're trying to apply the delta to the Beta1 when it should be applied to the Alpha2. Are you using an older system to try to make these images? You need the 'new' applydeltaiso to build 11.x ISOs - that on 10.3 and earlier will fail with just this error. The package name is "deltarpm" and I can tell you that version 3.4-78.1 (as in OSL 11.0) works and 3.3-31 (OSL 10.2) does not. I believe it is to do with the switch to lzma compression. This has been discussed on this list several times previously... That explains it! Probably was discussed frequently during 11.0 beta, but I skipped that version almost entirely and didn't follow the list that closely. Would have been nice to have a clearer error message from applydeltaiso... Anyway, thanks for the clarification. nordi -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
