Tumbleweed snapshot 20240418 and dracut- pcr-signature
Hello!
Packages changed: [...] ==== dracut-pcr-signature ==== Version update (0.3+1 -> 0.3+5)
- Update to version 0.3+5: * Generate the initrd after installation * Temporaly conflict with GRUB2 * Small fix for comment - Update to version 0.3+2: * Do not hard fail when error in mount [...]
zypper dup -l tells me there is a conflict: Problem: 1: the to be installed grub2-branding- openSUSE-84.87.20240405-1.2.noarch requires 'grub2', but this requirement cannot be provided Solution 1: Following actions will be done: deinstallation of grub2-branding-openSUSE-84.87.20240405-1.1.noarch deinstallation of grub2-2.12-13.1.x86_64 deinstallation of grub2-i386-pc-2.12-13.1.noarch deinstallation of grub2-snapper-plugin-2.12-13.1.noarch deinstallation of grub2-systemd-sleep-plugin-2.12-13.1.noarch deinstallation of grub2-x86_64-efi-2.12-13.1.noarch Solution 2: Following actions will be done: deinstallation of dracut-pcr-signature-0.3+1-1.1.noarch deinstallation of sdbootutil-snapper-1+git20240410.3325802-1.1.x86_64 Solution 3: keep obsolete dracut-pcr-signature-0.3+1-1.1.noarch Solution 4: break grub2-branding-openSUSE-84.87.20240405-1.2.noarch by ignoring some of its dependencies I understand that the best solution is #3, to keep the old version of dracut- pcr-signature-0.3+1 for the time being. Perhaps it would be better to suggest a solution somewhere (package changelog?) in cases like this - unavoidable temporary conflicts. Greetings! -- Javier Llorente

I understand that the best solution is #3, to keep the old version of dracut- pcr-signature-0.3+1 for the time being.
The solution is #2. You do not need dracut-pcr-signature with grub2.
Perhaps it would be better to suggest a solution somewhere (package changelog?) in cases like this - unavoidable temporary conflicts.
Greetings!

I should added a better description in the changelog. The correct solution in #2. This module was dragged by another application by mistake, and for now if you have GRUB2 you should not have sdbootutil not dracut-pcr-signature. Very soon this conflict will be removed, as there is a valid use case of having sdbootutil and GRUB2. But this will be under user selection.
