md5sum checks out. I wrote in the path to the rpm installation explicitly as well while executing zypper. I would install one from the repositories listed on software.opensuse.org, but the one I found is not updated. At this point, I am willing to try anything to get it working.

They key may be the "error building the cache" problem. I will investigate by trying to install some other software package in a standalone rpm.

I just tested with the Dropbox rpm package, and it gave me this error as well:
