[opensuse-factory] Long boot time with Live KDE openSUSE 13.2 RC1 image
Downloaded the RC1 and dd to my usb thumbdrive. Plugged into my computer and booted up, but the boot time was very slow. The cause of this appeared to be: 1. The live image re-partitioning the usb device to have three partitions - sdc1; sdc2; sdc3 2. An error with the USB 3 card/xhci Here is the output from dmesg: [ 6.549548] sdc: sdc1 sdc2 [ 66.585958] systemd-udevd[271]: worker [276] /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1c.4/0000:0b:00.0/usb3/3-1/3-1:1.0/host7/target7:0:0/7:0:0:0/block/sdc is taking a long time [ 66.905601] usb 3-1: reset high-speed USB device number 2 using xhci_hcdqqq [ 66.905848] xhci_hcd 0000:0b:00.0: Setup ERROR: setup context command for slot 1. Opts: (null) It did boot, because i am typing this email from the live image now. All things seem to work fine. Note i have checked md5sum and running "check installation media" gives me the same result as above. Have not yet booted the live image in my usb 2 port. Thoughts? This is part of the normal procedure and is done on the first boot of the live media, in order to get a persistent filesystem. Subsequent boots should not need to do this. Nothing wrong here. Of course, a checkum after this point will fail. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
