[opensuse-factory] systemd-coredump activity
LS, Since the last two "zypper dup --no-rec", systemd-coredump is continually writing files in /var/lib/systemd/coredump and all look like -rw-r-----+ 1 root root 1314333 Feb 5 21:41 core.kactivitymanage.1000.118f830f8537460db73d4c8b841ed827.27901.1517863279000000.lz4 -rw-r-----+ 1 root root 1311356 Feb 5 21:41 core.kactivitymanage.1000.118f830f8537460db73d4c8b841ed827.27918.1517863280000000.lz4 -rw-r-----+ 1 root root 1308999 Feb 5 21:41 core.kactivitymanage.1000.118f830f8537460db73d4c8b841ed827.27936.1517863280000000.lz4 -rw-r-----+ 1 root root 1310299 Feb 5 21:41 core.kactivitymanage.1000.118f830f8537460db73d4c8b841ed827.27954.1517863280000000.lz4 -rw-r-----+ 1 root root 1314830 Feb 5 21:41 core.kactivitymanage.1000.118f830f8537460db73d4c8b841ed827.27970.1517863281000000.lz4 etc, etc until the partition is filled. Another symptom: I can open the menu anymore. The screens turn black when I do. Help is welcome. kactivitymanagerd is crashing. Make sure that libQt5Sql5-sqlite is installed. It is actually *required* since the latest snapshot, but before it was only recommended. (and you wrote that you use "zypper dup --no-rec"... ;-) ) Without it, exactly that will happen, see https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1078173 If that doesn't help, try to rename the folder ~/.local/share/kactivitymanagerd/, maybe the database got corrupted somehow. Thanks, it was the database who was corrupted. libqt5sql5-lite was already installed. By the way: --no-rec means "no recommended", not "no required". So it should have no effect on required packages, or am I wrong? No, it doesn't have an effect on required packages. But as I wrote, libQt5Sql5-sqlite was only recommended until recently, and it started to crash without it in 5.12 beta apparently... Btw, if you can reproduce this and/or still have a usefull coredump, you should probably file a bug report about your crashes at bugs.kde.org.
