Ansible 6.x and ansible-lint 6.x landed in Tumbleweed
Good morning, after weeks of testing and preparing the new ansible package has finally landed in Tumbleweed and will be available soon. Also, the latest version 6.8.1 of ansible-lint landed in Tumbleweed. The new ansible package brings lots of changes, as it replaces the unmaintained 2.9.27 version. The package itself only contains a "curated set" of community collections and the binary "ansible-community" (that is only included to check the package version). A slight change in the packaging is that all of the actual ansible binaries are now included in a package ansible-core, that was also included in Tumbleweed recently. The most prominent user-facing changes are the full support for collections, that enhance the core functionalities of ansible-core. Several people kindly tested the packages beforehand and submitted fixes, thank you all for your help! In case of errors, questions or feedback with these packages of any kind please reach out to me. I will try to move all other things that are related to Ansible into the new devel project systemsmanagement:ansible and will reach out to the respective package maintainers prior to moving. Have a nice day, everyone! I assume that will be in (one of) the next snapshot(s)? And are the community collections part of the package, or if not, could there be rpm packages of the comminity collections? I think so, too. I am a little bit surprised that it is not yet available, but I am too far away from the gory details on the snapshot releases to say more about it.

Yes, the ansible package contains many community collections. The best list of collections included in the new "ansible" package that I found is the list of changed and unchanged collections in the release:
