[opensuse-factory] Invalid font cache files?
Since a few days I have the following symptom when running SuSEconfig: Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.fonts... Creating fonts.{scale, dir} files ............ /etc/fonts/suse-font-dirs.conf unchanged /etc/fonts/suse-hinting.conf unchanged /etc/fonts/suse-bitmaps.conf unchanged Creating cache files for fontconfig /var/cache/fontconfig: invalid cache file: 5582bcdff229c67b5fec2ece77d58e8f-x86.cache-2 /var/cache/fontconfig: invalid cache file: 5ca8086aeacc9c68e81a71e7ef846b3b-x86.cache-2 ... And so on. Deleting this files and recreating them doesn't help. I see now visible problem with the fonts, however. fonts-config-20060913-10 fontconfig-2.4.1-5 Bug report ;) ? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

This is partly an upgrade problem and partly a bug: - fontconfig does not like the cache files produced by previos versions of itself. Upgrade problem, can be worked around by deleting them and running SuSEconfig afterwards. - fontconfig.x86_64 does not like the cache files produced by the 32bit version of itself. This is/was a real bug.
Bug report ;) ?
