Easy to move from Leap 15.6 to "SloRoll" via repos OR fresh install only?
Folks: I have a TW install and a Leap 15.6 install running, over time I have grown to appreciate the stability that Leap provides to the end user. I recently upgraded Leap from 15.5 to 15.6 by simply changing the "15.5" in the repos to . . . "15.6" . . . . Easy-peasy. My understanding is that "SloRoll" is the next iteration of Leap. But, I've seen some of the discussion about problems getting "SloRoll" installed; my question is will it be possible to move from Leap to "SloRoll" via editing the repos . . . to???? something basic, like "15.7," which is very easy to type, OR would it have to be "S-l-o-R-o-l-l" typed out, one letter at a time?? Or, nope, "SloRoll" is an entirely fresh install, it doesn't share much repo DNA with the elderly Leap filesystem, provided with different repo addresses, so no way to get there by simple edits???

I've done one upgrade from a TW and five upgrades from Leaps, all successfully, all only via changes within /etc/zypp/repos.d/ and using zypper. I meant to do another last night, but forgot to not upgrade the TW first, so won't be doing that one until after the next roll, which should be due. I only do the edits once. They stay on my LAN server, and get copied to the target's /etc/zypp/repos.d/. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science. Team OS/2 ** Reg. FM: OK, thanks for the reply, so you were able to upgrade to "SloRoll" via editing . . . . But, what exactly did you provide to the /etc/zypp/repos.d/ data, was one of my questions?? What was edited to what, etc? It might be faster simpler via command line zyppering, but unless we can "nano" the /etc/zypp/repos.d/ file, I might be inclined to use YaSt to do that???

Thanks for pointing that out . . . I was previously thinking that "SloRoll" is what I voted for . . . but I guess not . . . .
