[opensuse-factory] openSUSE 11.1 Gnome no compiz.
Hi! Situation: - openSUSE 11.1 with Gnome desktop. - hardware: nvidia - nvidia drivers; downloaded and installed from download.nvidia.com (no package), version 177.x. When I try to set "Activate desktop effects", I've obtain a message like "You cannot have a supported hardware for this" (or something like this). Any idea about this? Thank you very much. -- Have a nice day ;-) TooManySecrets ============================ Dijo Confucio: "Exígete mucho a ti mismo y espera poco de los demás. Sorry for top post, sent from blackberry. I'm guessing you're
experiencing the glx module issue.
Try reinstalling compiz after you install nvidia package.
If that doesn't work you can use compiz version without nomad patch

Compiz activated. The problem is that any app has window-deco, only the application, but no window with name, minimize-max-close buttons, etc.
OK. Did you run simple-ccsm and enabled desktop effects? If you didn't tried than try to install packages from: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XGL/openSUSE_Factory/ It has 1-click install links, so it shouldn't be a problem to install. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
Sorry for top post, sent from blackberry:
There is actuall an opensuse 11.1 XGL repository. No need to use factory now.
That I'm guessing would fix it for yoy, as most compiz issues were
caused by the nomad patch.

Yes. It's the app that tell me the error.

Ok, all is running fine now (I think). I will investigate now how to change window deco theme, and also how to exit from gnome saving the session (I think is something easy). Thank you very much to everyone. -- Have a nice day ;-) TooManySecrets ============================ Dijo Confucio: "Exígete mucho a ti mismo y espera poco de los demás. I had the same experience with openSUSE 11.0, but with KDE (filed the bug 403897). I haven´t tried it yet in 11.1. After installing via 1-click, it started working.
