[opensuse-factory] Udisks in 12.2

Still need a clarification. What version will be the default - udisks1 or udisks2? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

There is no default: the one(s) that will be needed to be installed by default will be installed by default. For instance, udisks2 is now a dependency of some GNOME packages, so it will be installed with a GNOME install. I assume that udisks (ie, udisks 1.0.x) is still required by KDE 4, so it will be installed with a KDE 4 install. udisks2 support is being worked on; I'm checking how far along it is. I thought udisks2 was compatible with udisks-1 by dbus interface. It is not so? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

The dbus interface is different, afaik. Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

So it is not compatible with dbus-1 neither by dbus interface, nor by console interface. What's the purpose of breaking everything each release? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

It (ie. the HAL->DeviceKit->udisks1->udisks2) is a classical example of the CADT[*] development model. But this is the openSUSE Factory list and you are barking up the wrong tree. Feel free to complain at devkit-devel@ but leave us alone.
