[opensuse-factory] Network Manager disabled at startup at random
I am not sure why, but occasionally TW starts without enabling Network Manager. I have to start it with the Services Manager in YaST. Any idea how to force it to start every single time?

I think I have the same issue when it's on WiFi only. With cable plugged in everything is OK. Could you confirm? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
I have the same problem with my desktop (cable no wifi).
NetworkManager it doesn't start automatically and I have to start the
service manual from terminal

I've seen the same problem occasionally, it's likely related to "Job network.target/start deleted to break ordering cycle starting with xinetd.service/start". Can you see the same message in the journal? Am Donnerstag, 8. Oktober 2015, 12:34:40 schrieb Alexandros_ Alexandros:

On a desktop wicked should be the networking method. Networkmanager is only useful if you do not connect to the same network all the time. Use Yast to set the networking method to "wicked", if set to Networkmanager now -- Gertjan Lettink, a.k.a. Who decides that? Certainly only the user of the given system... Olaf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

What if one uses e.g. GNOME - then it's not visible whether the connection is on or off while with NM that's handled properly? Sincerely, Gour -- The embodied soul may be restricted from sense enjoyment, though the taste for sense objects remains.

Definitely not.. There is proper GUI integration between wicked and desktop, apart from YasT2 which is designed more around server usercase. -- Frederic Crozat Enterprise Desktop Release Manager SUSE -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Am I missing things? What I see is that the installer on f.e. laptops defaults to Networkmanager, on PC's ( all wired here ) to wicked. -- Gertjan Lettink, a.k.a.
