[opensuse-factory] lvm crypto workaround
Hello, For those running into the problem, that lvm crypto is not working: remove splash=silent from boot parameters. This will show a text based console and password input, but at least works (and looks nicer for someone who started Linux on an i386 without graphics :-) ). Idea came from reading this bug report: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=834063 Now I can install factory on my company laptop, where policy requires encrypted HDD (but luckily does not rule out devel quality software :-) ). Stangely this one should has been done on 12.3 already with plymouth integeration just use splash nosplash (plus quiet verbose) Any chance the params would have been kept from a previous installation or a copy/paste old /etc/sysconfig/bootloader ? -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

No, this was a fresh install in vmware (what I always do before installing on real hardware). Bye, CzP -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
