[opensuse-factory] State of including new repositories before installation
Hi, I remember that original discussions on the possibility of including a repository before installation was about giving the user a possibility of adding their own repository rather than choosing from a pre-selected list (though that is useful as well). Is there a plan, currently, to implement this (doesn't appear in alpha 7)? It would be pretty nice. Furthermore, most people seem to not notice the location of the new option (or if so, skip over it because of possible ambiguity). Beineri suggested "Include Internet repositories during installation" and that sounds a little clearer to me. How about it? Actually "Register Internet repositories before installation". And also to make the whole stuff more obvious by adding a second groupbox instead like +-- Registration of Internet Repositories Before Installation --------+ | (x) Do not register | | | | ( ) Register default repositories (OSS and NON-OSS) | | | | ( ) Choose which repositories to register | +---------------------------------------------------------------------+ The second option would skip the "List of External Repositories" screen. The second option would skip the "List of External Repositories" screen.
Then the third option would only have the Debug repository more. And I don't think "OSS and NON-OSS" means anything to users. But making it a bit more prominent is fine I guess. Currently it also offers: "GNOME:Community, Hamradio, KDE:Community and Mozilla" repositories. And my educated guess would be that three stay.

Then leave it out, also more flexible. Bye, Steve --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
