[opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed update errors due to missing requirements
Hi, I just wanted to report three missing requirements errors I had when trying to update my Tumbleweed system today: libgensec0 ( http://s24.postimg.org/g1n6b25dx/Screenshot_from_2016_04_16_12_01_55.png ) libsmbclient-raw0 ( http://s24.postimg.org/99wr87ged/Screenshot_from_2016_04_16_12_02_22.png ) libregistry0 ( http://s24.postimg.org/z80de8lvp/Screenshot_from_2016_04_16_12_02_54.png ) It seems to be resolvable by uninstalling those packages, but I'm not sure if they're needed by anything. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

deinstall, because it's gone in the new version.

If they are, then you will see more deinstalls than these three, so it is easy to detect. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
Ok, thanks a lot. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

"zypper dup" takes care of also removing packages that are flagged as no-longer existing in Tumbleweed... "zypper up" does not. Cheers, Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Yep, but if you are depending on desktop tools (e.g. gnome-software), which all do a zypper up rather than zypper dup, you wouldn't have known that because the samba update was just held back in my case, no questions asked. Other software got updated and then gnome-control- center refused to start, which is when I had my panic attack ;) Cheers, -- Atri Bhattacharya -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
"zypper dup" takes care of also removing packages that are flagged as no-longer existing in Tumbleweed... "zypper up" does not. I think, it's also possible to run "zypper up" and review orphaned

There is difference between "packages you installed manually from RPM file" and "packages that had been part of distribution and are no more". -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
