[opensuse-factory] mirrors.kernel.org sync delay
comparing mirrors http://ftp-1.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/bo... vs. ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/boot/i386/loader/ linux and initrd are several days older on the latter. This is a question of bandwith and sync frequency. There's nothing we can do on our end besides getting far better internet connectivity. The mirrors sync whenever they like to do it. I know he does, and believe he's one of few who do. As a result, my recent experience with gwdg is that it is unbearably slow, which is why I've been using mirrors.kernel.org, which has been consistently fast. Now that I'm aware of its sync problem, I don't know where to turn for a reliable US source.
