[opensuse-factory] Configuring Serial console with 12.3 RC1
Hi, I am trying to set a serial console with 12.3 RC1 running in Virtualbox. I have added the following to grub console=tty0, console=ttyS0,115200n8 I can get the output in the host machine with the following socat UNIX-CONNECT:/tmp/vbox-ttyS0 PTY,link=/tmp/vbox-ttyS0 screen /tmp/vbox-ttyS0 However when I try to login from the host machine to the virtualbox machine running 12.3RC1 it spawns so fast that I can't type in the password, most of the time one character is bad enough to for the bad login message to pop up. Any one using serial console with success care to share how they manage Thanks Togan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Well, for one, don't use the same path for the Unix socket and the symlink; this socat call removes the socket, leaving you unable to establish any further sessions should you exit socat. Other than that, I cannot reproduce any "spawns too fast" situations, whatever that would entail. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
