Skype was never (IIRC) on any DVD or online repository. Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Hmmm. I am sure that I installed skype with yast2 on my 11.0. And I have only openSuSE repositories installed and the packman repository but packman doesn't provide skype. So where did it come from? Skype offers rpms, you maybe did a manual install? Karsten -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Maybe something like: 'yast2 --install $HOME/Downloads/skype-2.0.0.72-suse.i586.rpm' or 'yast2 --install skype'. I just use rpm after manually fetching from Skype's web site. -- How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver. Proverbs 16:16 NKJV Team OS/2 ** Reg. Skype has always been available from skype.com. With 11.0 I already had skype installed before the update or where I did a fresh install I downloaded from skype.com. Skype is a proprietary binary only, so even if it were on a non-free repo, it would be exactly the same. It has nowt to do with openSUSE and can't be changed. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ... Same here. That's set in Skype's RPM so you most likely got it from there. rpm -qi skype would tell more: Vendor: Skype Limited Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

bye, Karl
skype-2.0.0.72-suse.i586.rpm returns that as it was built for 10.2, regardless of the distribution that's installed, e.g on a fresh install of Milestone 6 and skype only just installed here returns that.
