[opensuse-factory] OK, folks, time to make it known!
I keep seeing, "Only 2 days to go!" when it comes to the release of 12.3. But I also know that the Gold is made available for downloading BEFORE the 'official' release. This has been so in the past. So, where is 12.3 Gold available for download? Now, come on, give out with the info..... :-) . On torrent. And this is a good way to make sure, that there are seeders :) Bye, CzP -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks for the response, but I have never used torrent. In any case, I can only assume that even torrent would require a URL to begin the download. In the repo where the isos are available I have seen the file which can be downloaded using torrent - but this is shown in the URL where the isos are sitting. And this is my question: what is this URL? :-) BC -- Using openSUSE 12.3 x86_64 with KDE 4.10.1 & kernel 3.8.2-1 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I get "unregistered torrent", so it's too early to distribute .torrent files. Anyway, we still have two days until release :) Bye, CzP -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Ah, plenty of time to fix the last few bugs :-( We ought to mention bug#807288 and the work-around in the release notes. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (9.0°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free DNS hosting, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Basil, Anyone running 12.3 rc1 or rc2 can just "zypper dup" to get the latest versions. If you didn't bother to test even those releases, why should anyone give you details about gold? You mean that is all there is to it to get my RC2 to get the Midas touch and become Gold? Ok, doing so in the next few minutes :-) . Basil, If you want to be sure, the RC1 and RC2 releases should have used the 12.3 repo as pre-populated with the relevant packages. Pre-release, you need to ensure you have the "refresh" flag set to true so that you get any updated packages as compiles are done on the backend. Once the release is formal, you can change that to refresh false because the repo is locked in stone. Coolo announced a couple of days ago, that he had stopped all official 12.3 builds, so once the 12.3 repo's got those final builds and pushed them out to the mirrors the process was done. Personally I'll leave mine set to refresh for another few days just in case I somehow still have an out of date package. (Not sure if that can happen or not). Makes a mockery of that crap about Release Time 1200 UTC and "cannot tell you what the URL is; I've been sworn to keep it secret', and other similar statements" :-( . And thanks, Larry, for the URL. It's saving me some 4 hours of wait time to download the release. It's downloading now. Thanks again. My network connection has a lousy upload speed of 1.0 Mbps, but I'm doing my part with torrents running for both KDE Live isos and the x86_64 DVD. Larry -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

As a follow up to my earlier reply. After doing the "zypper dup" quick-step I see no difference in my RC2 installation. For example, the Activities icon is still the dull BW die. So there must still be some changes yet to come I expect. But, apart from the dull Activites icon I am not complaining as it is all working perfeclty :-) - so far. Congrats to the oS team who, yet again, bring out a terrific version! Oh, before I forget: the first thing I did notice just now is that the login is now really FAST.
