Hey Group; I have a Brothers MFC 7840W all in one printer which works via the network and in Windows - however, not in openSuSE . I downloaded the factory RPMs and installed them. Yast2 and localhost:631 sees it and cups seems to be acting correctly. "lp file.txt" implies in is ok and lpq shows the file was sent and ready. lsusb and hwinfo agree. Yast2 Printer keeps asing for "Password for root at localhost" in both a console and X. But Yast2 offer no option to type it in so it just hangs until a ps ax and kill -9.
