Now for several months, I have an issue with zypper dup. Every time when dracut has run, I can't restart the system. It always hangs trying to load drivers and accessing the root directory. The only remedy is to run the openSUSE Net CD and doing an Update. It mostly comes down that update wants to reinstall the next packages: grub2, irqbalancer, kernel-default, kexec-tools, numactl and openSUSE-release. Forcing a reinstall before booting of above packages does give the same result. I seem to remember (vaguely, so I might be completely off) that on some SLES machines we had a similar issue where /usr/bin/bash was not present, only /bin/bash (or the other way round?). Anyway, check if both are present. Doing a manual '/usr/bin/dracut --kver=6.2.10-1-default -f' ends with the same result. I have another older system without above issue.
