[opensuse-factory] Documenting Leap Next and SLE differences
Hello openSUSE! I've mentioned on my yesterday's talk "Why should be companies be interested in Leap Next" that there is only a bunch of changes in between Leap Next and SLE 15. I spent today a bit of time on putting this together https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Jump/Leap15.2.1:Forks I believe that's it for Jump (15.2.1) based on reviewing all the JIRA features that I created based on my diff/research effort earlier this year. Feature diff in openSUSE Leap 15.3 should be limited only to rejected SLE features, which are listed with "No." in the last column. Let me know if you think it's detailed enough. Thank you and Best regards Luboš Kocman Release Manager openSUSE Leap SUSE Software Solutions Germany GmbH Maxfeldstr. 5 90409 Nuremberg Germany (HRB 36809, AG Nürnberg) Managing Director: Felix Imendörffer

Hello openSUSE!
I've mentioned on my yesterday's talk "Why should be companies be interested in Leap Next" that there is only a bunch of changes in between Leap Next and SLE 15.
I spent today a bit of time on putting this together https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Jump/Leap15.2.1:Forks
I believe that's it for Jump (15.2.1) based on reviewing all the JIRA features that I created based on my diff/research effort earlier this year.
Feature diff in openSUSE Leap 15.3 should be limited only to rejected SLE features, which are listed with "No." in the last column.
Let me know if you think it's detailed enough.
This a good page, but what I am missing atm, is the list of packages which are available in Leap, but not in Jump, per architecture. This could be due to build failures or anything else. One example is VLC which is available for x86_64 only in Jump atm, but was part of Leap. Also, we have no visibility on build failures since builds are done on IBS. Maybe a mirror list could be done to have at least a list of build failures? Cheers, Guillaume
Thank you and Best regards

That's quite nice - both the progress (updating/adjusting SLE 15 to a good extent) and your summary. Thank you! Gerald -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
