Just a quick usability point - at the end of using Software Management, the question comes up "Would you like to Add or Remove More Packages?" with a "yes" and "no" button. Many people just look at the answers and not the question (I just caught myself doing it, and almost selected the wrong option). Perhaps the old way, "Finish" would be a better option instead of "No"? Maybe "Add More Packages" and "Finished Installing" would be good options. Whichever really; I just don't think "Yes" and "No" for what they mean are good choices. Joseph M. Gaffney aka CuCullin
Hi! Once a local admin had the following message during boot: "If you do not want to erase your previous settings, press ESC within 5 seconds". Most people needed 5s to read the message, a few more to think, ... ;-) However if there is no time-out, I'd expect people to look at the screen and read. The real question is this: Shouldn't it be asked before SuSEconfig runs? Regards, Ulrich On 15 Mar 2006 at 9:38, Joseph M. Gaffney wrote:

That is an intersting question......Why is it the way it is now? Seems to be not a vital order....And this would probably better.... Azerion

Why not just returning to the package selection screen, and then the user selects to exit from there? That's the way Synaptic and Smart works (possibly some Yum GUIs too). -- % Mauricio Teixeira (netmask) % mteixeira{a}webset{d}net <> Maceio/AL/BR % http://mteixeira.webset.net <> http://pmping.sf.net

No way! That seems like a bugloop :-). Nobody will understand what is happening and then you have to 'install nothing' to finish.....not a good idea in my not so humble opinion. This method looks a lot more 'complete' then just returning and use the exit from there. Azerion

I second that. It's not critical by any means, but would definitely be a
usability enhancement IMO as well.

However I have seen the question a million times, I still tend to press the wrong one. A second option is to change the question direction. So that the Finish becomes the Yes :-) But that takes to much language-tecnical problems with it. So it is better to have buttons like: Finish (maybe :All) -- Install More Azerion
