[opensuse-factory] smart-gui on openSUSE 10.2 a3
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all: I just install the new oS.10.2 a3 (is it correct? openSUSE is so long for me ;-) ) and smart and smart-gui packages. With smart I have no problem, with smart --gui option I obtain this error message: System has no support for gtk python interface. Any help? That's interesting. How did you install smart-gui (and smart)? It should actually require python-gtk, which provides the python gtk interface. What does "rpm -q python-gtk" tell you? Please post the output of "rpm -q smart" and "rpm -q --qf "%{DISTURL}" smart". Regards Christoph

Alright -> go and blame Pascal :) [You are not using the original openSUSE packages. I guess the package you are trying to use is aimed at SUSE Linux 10.1 -> so, either ask Pascal to provide packages for Factory or use our smart packages.] Pascal, how about splitting the part of your smart package that we can't ship for known reasons into a subpackage and make people use one version of smart on SUSE? The number of (support) request around smart is growing and I'd rather like working together on smart than "competing" again each other. Regards Christoph

Well, the first time I install smart it was from the dvd iso I do with delta-iso alpha2-alpha3... (this is not original openSUSE?) And not works when I run smart --gui.For this reasons I update smart from guru. I don't remember if there are python-gtk installed the first time but I remember that I install smart with yast2 and I suppose is yast2 who must check dependencies ,or not? I guess guru's smart packages are just incompatible with 10.2 --> presumably X11R6 path changes, or something in that area. Regards Christoph

I downgrade smart version to the first one (on dvd alpha3) and the error is the same.python-gtk is installed and rpm -q --qf "%{DISTURL}" smart says something like this: srcrep:2b2bac540fc8d0300f7701840ae67e70-smart - -- Chema Ollés Usuario Linux: #198057 Linux 2.6.16.21-2-smp #1 SMP Wed Jul 5 17:47:38 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFE/zL565SpD7GhbzoRAoyoAJ9enES/LMOBN1LaeMWNk//EO3+3UgCgk+FG NXbcCUVIpHI1tmH/LO1hNOY= =KvBd -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

So, now you have smart and smart-gui at alpha 3 level? I guess you are running into a known bug with python-cairo now -- Please upgrade to alpha4 and try again. Regards Christoph

As far as I remember, I had to install python-wxGTK to get the smart-gui going. -- HTH Andreas --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
