[opensuse-factory] Milestone 5 on x86-64 broken or not?
So, has everybody tested milestone 5 on i586 - like me - or is it working for some on x86-64? Did anybody succeed installation on x86-64? Should we send a warning out that this is a 32-bit only milestone? what to tell people? 'zypper dup' from M3 to M5 worked fine on my x86_64 system at home. bnc#596324 forced me to restart "zypper dup" (with the zypper from M5) which ran fine without incidents. The question was "is it installable" and your answer was "I did not test" ;-) Does a "zypper ref -f" still work for you? For me, it segfaults when refreshing. -- Stefan Seyfried "Any ideas, John?" How do you downgrade in the installation system? So is it installable? No. ;-) -- Stefan Seyfried "Any ideas, John?" "Well, surrounding them's out." -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

thanks to those that answered regarding zypper dup but let me ask explicitely: Does installation from the Milestone 5 x86-64 LiveCDs or DVD work for anybody? Does not work for me. Tested openSUSE-DVD-Build0556-x86_64.iso in VmWare Workstation 6.5, as 64bit guest. Bye, CzP -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

It failed for me with openSUSE-NET-x86_64-Build0556-Media.iso. But that failure didn't look like the zypper failure. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Zypper in a 32-bit(i686) machine 'zypper dup'ed to Factory from 11.2 seg faults for me. But currently I do not have access to that machine. I am not sure whether that is same as this bug. I Will update the bug tomorrow after inspecting it.
