Hi,
I installed 11.0-Alpha2 on my T60 Thinkpad and my PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network card doesn't work (when I try to set it up during the installation or post install) because the kernel device is not present
No problem - I select the "Install" bouton
I follow through the configuration process till the end and I get PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection (not connected) BusID : 0000:03:00.0
Unable to configure the network card because the kernel device is not present I have read a bugzilla report about this months ago but cannot find it right now. You might try to carefully search bugzilla.novell.com. I
... think the bug was against 10.3. But as far as I remember the bug was solved ... Bug ??? That is bad news because my PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network card works perfectly under 10.3 (abet not as good as my PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network card). I say not as good as PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network card for the simple reason that KNetworkManager looses the password fairly often on 3945ABG Network card on 10.3 when I boot up (I just have to re enter the password again) something I hardly ever do on the 2200BG Network on card when I boot up. Guess which one I gave the girlfriend ? Question: Is there someway to use the same wireless modules for the PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network card as I am currently using on 10.3 ? Ok I had a deep look in bugzilla and found a report, you might look at: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=343893 (although this is for ndiswrapper, but there was one for iwl/ipw as well ...) Otherwise it is probably best to file a bug. greetings Felix Möller --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
