[opensuse-factory] Adding bootsplash module to kernel for future releases of openSUSE
Hello, I have read last year that SUSE was working on the code so that a "bootsplash" module would be added to the kernel. However, SUSE decided to stop working on the code. Is openSUSE taking on this work so that it would be available over the next two years? This would be a more productive project than trying to find out why Plymouth is not working with NVidia drivers. I would like to offer my time in testing the kernels. -- Cheers! I think there still is the plan to use new functionality in the kernel - which might be in the most recent kernel by now - to support a replacement of plymouth. This should be available in Tumbleweed. Yes? It would be great if openSUSE made an announcement. I wonder if they will be adding code to support "drm" over the next year. Hopefully this will work with NVidia cards. I'm seriously considering on purchasing the Intel CPU that supports comes with the AMD Vega GPU. Cheers!
