[opensuse-factory] Mesa for Tumbleweed
Would it be possible to have Meas 10.x and LLVM 3.4 in Tumbleweed? That would be really good for radeonSI users (OpenGL 3.1 instead 2.1) and is would be much appreciated since openSUSE 13.2 is delayed... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Do you have a link to the repo/package I should pull in? thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I'd suggest: X11:XOrg for Mesa 10.1 https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/X11:XOrg/Mesa devel:tools:compiler for llvm 3.4 https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/devel:tools:compiler/llvm These are the devel projects for these packages. I'd suggest:
X11:XOrg for Mesa 10.1 https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/X11:XOrg/Mesa
$ osc whatdependson openSUSE:13.1 Mesa standard i586 | wc -l 2003 Hah, yeah right, I'm not going to do that, sorry.
devel:tools:compiler for llvm 3.4 https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/devel:tools:compiler/llvm
I can add this, but is is really used by anyone? thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

It is used to compile parts of/for Mesa, but with you not adding Mesa, it is more or less pointless to add it.
thanks,

Ok, I'll go remove it then, thanks. greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

greg k-h Thanks Greg for looking into this. I understand that it´s too much work? Maybe the work would seem worthwhile when we know how many people would like this update. So I opened a request on openFATE: https://features.opensuse.org/317173 I´ll be back when a "reasonable" number of supporters votes this up :)

That's a pity :-( I'm currently looking for the easiest way to abandon the AMD Catalyst driver and replacing it by a current MESA+Kernel+LLVM+Xorg+the stuff that is needed and I don't know about... The steady progress of the radeon driver (as documented by phoronix.com and forum praise) makes me want to try it. But, my Suse 13.1 64bit with an 3.11 kernel is too old. Any suggestion, how to test/use a current MESA? 13.1 + XOrg + kernel repositories? Or, do I need even more repos?
