Installation source operations take a lot of time
While installation source management in RC1 is a definite improvement (like: it actually works), there's a usability issue: Whatever operation I do in YaST Installation Source, it takes a lot of time, and there's no progress bar, no "please wait", no indication that it's not stuck. For example, after adding 2 sources from the internet and pressing "Finish", it took 30+ minutes for the window to close. I know that it must have been downloading repository metadata stuff from the internet, but the average user Joe will be very confused. Anyway, I suppose that this could be optimized later. After you guys pull this release through, you'll be heroes. It has been epic :-)

Just like Yast updates the sources without the popup from old-times. It's just like it is not gonna start.
For example, after adding 2 sources from the internet and pressing "Finish", it took 30+ minutes for the window to close.
It is in any way a slow way, in the old days it took max 2 minutes and now it takes a livetime, can't this be reduced?

I guess also that it can be optimezed later, but as you allready said: "average user Joe will be very confused." and that is not a good thing. For example: reviewers don't know it about the metapack (and they should not) and they will say that it is awful slow and not user-friendly....ooooopppss

It worked during my tests as well - but I've heard reports from QA that it's not working for everybody :-(

Please open a bugreport and CC me on it. Yes, there should be some message. We're just adding something similar to the "Configure Online Update" part where it's not obvious either.

It should indeed.

That would be a duplicate of a report I filed earlier - though i filed it as an enhancement - not a bug. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=159803 cb400f
