Any request to https://debuginfod.opensuse.org results in a 503 with a deprecation message. This makes gdb unable to retrieve debuginfo data automatically.
Based on openSUSE/heroes-salt:bae4d577[0], the debuginfod service seems entirely deprecated, as
nobody stepped up to maintain it, and it being broken repeatedly causes confusion with users
This is quite sad, as I've personally found the debuginfod service (when it was working) to be very useful compared to having to manually download dozens of debug packages using zypper each time I want to debug something using gdb.
Hi, in the meanwhile a team at SUSE stepped up to build and maintain a new openSUSE debuginfod service. I'm not sure when it will be ready, we still need to coordinate it - but I think this is already good news. Best, Georg
