[opensuse-factory] /etc/sysconfig/ settings ignored on alternate boots
x86 Sempron/VIA chipset MGA video 1M RAM After today's dup (last dup'd about 5 days ago): 1-neither auto nor boot nor ifplugd for STARTMODE resulted in ifup eth0 being successfully executed by ifup-eth0 on alternate boots. The only available network connection on the system is or ever will be is eth0. 2-KBD_RATE & KBD_DELAY settings (20 & 250) in keyboard were ignored on alternate subsequent boots. 3-rpcbind was only started on boots where eth0 was successfully started These are only what I've noticed. NetworkManager is not installed. SuSEfirewall2 is not installed. *bluetoo* and *wirele* are not installed. zypper in -f sysvinit-tools and sysvinit seemed to fix these problems, until I figured out these problems only appear on a l t e r n a t e b o o t s (over more than 4 cycle pairs of testing)! /etc/sysconfig/keyboard has advanced to being ignored on every boot since today's dup that included 2.6.37-18-desktop, on a different (Intel chipset) system. NUM is left off, kbdrate is left maximum, and delay is wrong. Is anyone else seeing this? Bugzilla search found nothing apparently covering it. -- "How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver." Proverbs 16:16 NKJV Team OS/2 ** Reg.
