Clipboard cut/paste partially broken in build 20220519
Clipboard cut/paste was partially broken in build 20220519 ( updated from build 20220422 ) where it worked without any problems. The problem specifically occurs between WINE apps and native apps. Cut/Paste between native apps like Kate and LibreOffice Write works fine in both directions. Cut/Paste between 2 WINE apps like 2 instances of Notepad also works fine. Cut/Paste between a Native app and a WINE app does NOT work. Examples: Kate cut and paste to Notepad does NOT work LibreOffice Writer cut and paste to Notepad does NOT work Cut/Paste between a WINE app and a Native app works fine. Examples: Notepad cut and paste to Kate works fine Notepad cut and paste to LibreOffice Writer works fine NOTE: I used Notepad as the WINE app in my examples because it is install when WINE was installed but the WINE app does NOT have to be Notepad. The problem actually also occurs with all the other WINE apps which I have installed when the cut was done in a native app.
I am surprised that no one else is having this issue. Surely I cannot be the only person using wine on TW? I did some more testing today found the following. Booting back to r/o snapshot for build 20220422 (my prior build) and the problem goes away. Updating my other TW systems from build 20220422 to build 20220519 and those systems now have the problem. Build 20220519 is using wine 7.8-1.2 Replacing wine 7.8-1.2 with 7.7-1.1 fixes the problem so this is a regression bug in win 7.8-1.2. ReInstalling wine 7.8-1.2 and the problem comes back.
I use wine under Tumbleweed/Gnome (20220521), although not nearly often enough to have observed this issue, so I did a test and can firm that a copy from gedit into an old version of Windows Evernote under wine doesn't paste anything, although copy/paset from Evernote to gedit does. I'd suggest a bug report. David On 5/24/22 6:46 AM, Joe Salmeri wrote:

Build 20220519 is using wine 7.8-1.2

Thanks for confirming David. I have submitted a bug report for TW and I also submitted one to the WINE developers because when I first found it I was not sure exactly what the source of the problem was but upon further investigation I have confirmed it is a wine bug. One of the wine developers sent me this link https://gitlab.winehq.org/jacek/wine/-/commit/69c05d7093a293fda2820dd1382d02... which is believed to fix the problem but that has not made it into the wine builds yet. So wine 7.7-1.1 works fine, but wine 7.8-1.2 is broke. I also tried updating one of my TW machines to 20220522 which has wine 7.9-1.1 but that version is still broke. Hopefully the fix will get merged soon.

With libvirt, I noticed that copy/paste between host (Leap 15.4 in my case) and TW guest is broken since at least 20220518 (keeps failing with 20220524), and I don't use wine, so I'm not sure if it's the root cause of the problem. Cheers.
This issue is resolved for me with WINE 7.10 and TW 20220606 and I closed out my bug report.
